The Hicks Police Training System teaches law enforcement personnel how to use the appropriate level of controlled, articulated force necessary to respond to and effectively handle any type of physically dynamic situation. The system does not teach the use of impact weapons or the creation of space between officer and suspect. Instead, it provides law enforcement personnel with a full-range system of graduated physical control movements that are based on physics, physiology, kinesiology and geometric structure. The overall objective of The Hicks Police Training System is to train police officers to work in any environment or situation that arises, with the ability to adapt and meet changing circumstances and apply the correct response, use of force, control, or restraint that is necessary. In essence, it provides the link between weaponless tactics and effective community patrol and policing.
